Cathedral Catholic is pleased to announce the appointment of a new head coach for the cheer program. Tammy McPhee Davila is a native Floridian and a graduate of the University of Miami. Her passion for cheer and dance began at age eight, leading to a 15-year competitive career that included Pop Warner, junior high, high school, college and eventually the professional level as a member of the San Diego Charger Girls. She was a coed cheerleader at the University of Miami and then a Sunsation dance team member.
Tammy started coaching and teaching children at 15, laying the foundation for a lifelong commitment to mentoring young athletes. Her career in entertainment and sports includes work with the University of Miami, the San Diego Chargers and e2k Sports, where she traveled globally to produce shows in Japan, Australia, Mexico and Europe. Tammy’s tenure with the San Diego Chargers spanned 16 years. She initially performed on the field as a Charger Girl and later took on roles behind the scenes as the game-day operations assistant. Ultimately, she served as the Director of the Charger Girls for eight years.
In 2024, Tammy celebrated 25 years of marriage. She is the proud mother of four and remains deeply involved in her community. A strong advocate for giving back, Tammy served as a board member and head cheer coach for the local youth football and cheer Pop Warner organization for seven years. Her leadership resulted in seven local and regional titles and five national championship titles. She is currently board member of the NFL Alumni Association. Tammy continues to lead with heart, passion and a commitment to inspiring the next generation. She is truly grateful for the opportunity to work with the Cathedral Cheer Program.
Please join us in welcoming Coach Davila. Roll Dons!
